about Puerto Rico: perfect destination for exotic weddings
July 21, 2008 – 4:24 pm
Once upon a time, in a metropolis not far away, a soon-to-be-bride was anything but blushing. Frustrated by the unimaginative wedding option her city had to offer, she wondered if her childhood dreams of saying “I Do” barefoot on the beach was possible.
Puerto Rico has been a favored site for destination weddings for years. Our Caribbean island paradise is ideal for couples who do not want a conventional wedding but want something unique.
Puerto Rico is a short flight away, boast year around summer climate, widespread use of the English language, same US currency, and -best of all- no passport required, if you are a US citizen.
From exquisite beaches to historic 500 years old Cathedrals and churches to tropical rainforest to romantic haciendas, the island variety of landscapes, provides the perfect place to promise eternal love.
Old San Juan is virtual time capsule that exude Old-World charm and romance. For example, El Convento, a 17th century convent and architectural landmark that has been carefully restored, is one of the most popular venues. El Convento is across one of the America’s oldest Cathedral, the historical Old San Juan Cathedral.
If you head south you will find Ponce, “La Ciudad Señorial”, with its european victorian flair and the world famous “Castillo Serralles” and Ponce Cathedral.
If you want to stay in the metro area but have a beach wedding you have the fabulous San Juan Ritz-Carlton. Or you can venture toward Puerto Rico west coast where you have beautiful sunset bathed weddings at either Rincon Beach Resort or Rincon of the Sea Resort.
But if you want something even more exotic, you can venture to Vieques where you will find incredible pristine beaches at the Martineau Bay Resort.
Whatever your island wedding fantasy, it can come true in Puerto Rico.
Melissa & Clyde Wedding Album: Revisited - The First Glance
July 20, 2008 – 9:47 am
This is a wedding book from a wedding I did in 2006. I recently did the Bride’s brother wedding and was looking over his sisters album and decided to make it big and re-publish it.
It is one of my favorite album. Melissa & Clyde are such a wonderful and warm couple. Fun, funny and daring. Their happiness comes from their faith in Christ. And this was a cinderella wedding!
We spend about an hour shooting them before the ceremony. I though I was done but after the ceremony they wanted more picture but we did about and hour or more… I lost track of time… of shooting! I was surprise they wanted more pictures! Usually, after the ceremony couple want to celebrate, and understandable so. But as Melissa and Clyde demonstrate, if you want fabulous images you have to invest the time. That is why we always suggest couple to see each other before the ceremony.
They did what we call the first glance. make up is just done, fresh and in its best, the wedding dress is in its best, no one has sweat yet. so conditions are in its peaks for photography. We set it up in a way that it becomes one of the most memorable and intimate moments of the day (except for the honeymoon, of course lol). We take all the images at that time, that way, after the ceremony is straight to the fun and celebration.
So, if you are planning a wedding, talk to us about the first glance. We will show you images and be delighted to talk about it with you.
In the meantime, here is their final wedding album design.
Website Update
July 12, 2008 – 11:29 am
Oh Boy! I am excited! Work in the new site is coming along. We are refining its working, trying out new features to see how we can make them work better. For example, the Client Lounge. I always wanted to create a kind of mini website for each one of you where you and your friend and family can easily find everything we produce for you.
Right now we are producing new slide shows for the site as well as populating images… BIG IMAGES… I love big images, into the galleries.
The blog is pretty much done. We are just updating the slide shows and the images to fit the new space and changing the old logo for the new one.
So, we apologize for all the dust and noise you will find when you visit our site during the construction, but keep checking often.
God bless,
David
